export a list of approved updates from WSUS then import to new WSU

situation: our old WSUS server was also running VMWare. lots of funky stuff
happened on it including 90% of the clients stopped reporting to it.

we moved WSUS to a new server that has no services that will impact it, but
now we're faced with having to manually approve a few hundred old and new
updates.

is there a way to export the approved lists from the old server then import
it to the new server?

I would also suggest looking at the Approval Migration Wizard contained in
the WSUS API Samples and Tools kit.
