Discussion:
Approve same updates for another group
(too old to reply)

I have setup a WSUS 3.0 server that works well. I started using targeting
to approve updates for a test group before deploying to the other groups.
Now that I have approved and tested all the updates that I wanted for my
test group and I am satisfied with the results, how can I approve only these
updates in "Test" for the rest of my groups -"Sales", "Production",
"Accounting", "Engineering"?

The easiest way to do this is to create a Custom Update View based on
"Updates approved for a specific group" and select your TEST group as that
group. Name the view "Updates approved for the TEST group".

Now, select all updates in the view "Updates approved for the TEST group"
(or the ones you want to approve for production deployment), click on
Approve, and add the production groups to the list of groups with approvals.

I don't see an option for 'Updates approved for a specific group' in my WSUS
(part of SCE 2007). ;-)

That is why you have to CREATE a Custom Update View.

Could be. SCE is a different product. What SCE does or does not provide in
the SCE console is not necessarily the same as what is provided in the WSUS
native console. :-)
